For the most part, laws in Metra follow the laws of the Coryani Empire. Laws and
punishment in Eppion are harsh, and bondage into slavery or public execution by
hanging or beheading is not uncommon, particularly for rebellious inhabitants, pirates,
thieves, and heretics. Displays of execution, flogging, etc takes place in Metra's arena.
The Gods of the Imperial Church are the only worship that is legal here.
Misdemeanors
Disrespect to a Noble/Ecclesiastic: 1-4 months gaol time, plus possible flogging
Breaking and Entering: 3 months gaol time, plus public branding
Gaol Breaking: bonded into slavery
Use of False Weights: pillory and public flogging
Prostitution without a License: pillory
Felonies
Tax Evasion: Bonded into Slavery
Harboring a Felon: Bonded into Slavery
Impersonation of a Noble: Branding, Bonded into Slavery (to a noble house at magistrate's discretion)
Forgery: Amputation (body part discretion of magistrate)
